Community Health Assessment Report

Union County performs a Community Health Assessment every 3-4 years. The assessment collects information to identify the strengths, resources and needs of Union County as a community.  

The assessment affords Public Health, county officials, community partners and residents an opportunity to ascertain what is impacting health and wellness in Union County. The process examines primary and secondary evidence to develop a factual reflection of population health resulting from emerging trends and epidemiological statistics.

In addition to being best practice, the CHA is also required by the State of North Carolina in order for local health departments to receive funding and accreditation.

State of the County Health Reports

The State of North Carolina requires each county to prepare a State of the County Health Report during the years when a Community Health Assessment is not conducted.

The State of the County Health Report informs the community about the current health status of the county and highlights the current health concerns.
